Steel Plus Distribution, Inc. (SPD) is a 100% owned subsidiary of Steel Plus Network. Operating from a 12.5 acre distribution facility in Columbia City, Indiana, SPD provides purchasing power and logistics support to Steel Plus members.

Located just 3 miles from the structural and rail division of Steel Dynamics, Inc, Steel Plus Distribution offers a competitive advantage to Steel Plus members by maximizing new efficiencies in the steel industry supply chain. The majority of all structural steel purchases through SPD, originates with SDI, thereby minimizing inbound freight costs and greatly increasing "on-time" delivery schedules.

The primary goals for the initial phase of Steel Plus Distribution are:

  • Position SPN as the preferred source of wide-flange steel beams for its members
  • Build a profitable Steel Plus Network Inc. subsidiary called "SPD, Columbia City, Indiana"
  • Offer SPN members access to mill direct products and enhanced mill buying opportunities
  • Offer SPN members a full service center using the latest technology available
  • Establish a physical depot located in Columbia City, Indiana
