Company Background
|
| Steel Plus Network (SPN) was created in 1995 as a division of Canam Manac Group Inc. to respond to two of the major demands of the Steel industry in North America - Technology and Training. During its first five years, SPN developed Commercial Structure (formerly known as PDM), a detailing software system, and also created steel detailing courses for SPN fabricator members. In 2000, SPN introduced "Steel Plus Technology" (also known as "The Blue Box"), an innovative business strategy that resulted from partnership agreements with detailing software industry leaders. The Blue Box contained specialized technology in detailing and production shop drawing for commercial and industrial steel structures. In addition to the software, technical assistance and training from the steel industry experts was made available exclusively to Network members. | |
| In 2003, Steel Plus Network's parent (Group Canam Ltd.) re-organized its North American operations. As a result of this development, Steel Plus Network became an independent company in 2005 and invited fabricators to collectively own the company, Steel Plus Network LLC. This offering allowed selected independent fabricators throughout North America to participate in the ownership of Steel Plus Network, LLC. Steel Plus Network, LLC shareholders inherited the company's many valuable assets: business networking with steel industry members, suppliers and associate partners; industry-leading purchasing programs, technology assistance and detailing services; education programs and training services. |
Early in 2007, Steel Plus Network, LLC won a major victory through a unanimous vote from its shareholders to continue to expand the Network's businesses and operations throughout North America.
Today, Steel Plus Network, LLC continues to incorporate new products and services including, a state-of-the-art technology platform and invoicing system, advanced information gathering system for the rebate program and an advanced web-enabled communications system. Planned initiatives and acquisitions such as structural steel purchasing network will drive our business into the future. | | |
